Hey – it’s National Spinal Health Month, a.k.a. National Chiropractic Health Month! I’m guessing you were unaware that such a month existed, but it’s true! While every day should be dedicated to helping yourself get and stay healthy, this month is focused on your spine.
Chiropractors focus on the health of your spine not because of the bones, but because of the nerves. While fully functioning spinal joints are a good thing, it’s only because when your spine is working as it should, your nerves have their best chance of being healthy.
Nerves are the first cells to form and they’re the only cells that don’t regenerate. You get new skin, new blood, even new bones on a regular basis — but your nerve cells are here to stay. So it’s best to take good care of them if you have any hope of feeling your best.
Spinal misalignments occur through either some sort of a trauma (car accident, fall, sports, learning to walk) or they are due to a gradual build up of all of your activities (or lack of activity).
At CORE Chiropractic, we are dedicated to helping your spine work at its best so that your nervous system can work at its best.
Chiropractic care is for patients of all ages. If you have a spine, you should visit a chiropractor periodically to make sure all is good.
I had a talk with my dentist the other day about prevention and maintenance. Most people now know that they should brush their teeth and get regular check-ups to maintain healthy teeth. Maintaining your teeth will help you avoid cavities, infection, or loss of your teeth.
Here’s the thing… you can get new teeth. However, you can’t get a new spine.
As much time and effort that’s dedicated to your teeth, your spine is even more important. My friend, Dr. Tabor Smith, put together a free program you can get to learn more about Home Spinal Care. You can download the PDF for free, or purchase a hard copy of the book.
In the office this month, we’re celebrating by giving away one free massage each week. We’re accepting entries by what you do on Facebook. Just like our page, a post, share a post, or give a review and you’ll be entered to win a free massage.
Happy Spinal Health Month!
