Seven ways chiropractic can help you? Where can you stand to get better?

Chiropractic can help you get out of pain.

Nearly all of the people who walk into a chiropractic office is looking to get out of pain. Whether its low back pain, headaches, neck pain, sciatica, hip pain, or all of them together. Chiropractic is an effective treatment for pain control. I have patients who weren’t even able to walk into the office on their own due to severe pain, crawling or being carried in. No one likes to be in pain, but some accept it as apart of their life.

They deal with it on daily basis and say they have a high pain tolerance which is a terrible thing to have. Pain is your brain telling you something is wrong. Why ignore a call for help. Baring the nature or severity of the problem you are dealing with, you can get some relief instantly, others problems can take days, weeks, even years in severe cases.

Chiropractic can help you sleep more comfortably.

A good night’s sleep not only results in you being more energetic, but healthier as well. Pertaining to the people who do have discomfort while sleeping, the number one culprit is the mattress. I get mattress questions all the time in practice. In some cases the mattress is the cause. If your mattress has body indentations then it would be helpful to get a new mattress. In the majority of cases its your posture while you sleep.

It’s the repetitive sleeping position you’ve adopted that has caused you spine to be out of alignment. For example, if the upper half of your body is on the side and the lower half is twisted towards the front, eventually your spine will mold into this position and ultimately create low back pain.

Chiropractic can help you ease your stress.

Stress creates pain and being in pain is also very stressful. Being in pain can directly affect your mood. Pain causes stress, fatigue, and depression in some cases. Have you ever crossed paths with a person who seemed mad at the world for no reason you could think of. I see a few of those people on a daily basis. That person at work who just seems to act like a jerk all day, everyday. There is a chance that that person is just in pain all day everyday and haven’t found anything that has helped them. That person is only hurting constantly and that pain has taken away their smile and caused them to react and respond distastefully. How would your mood be if the roles were reversed?

I’ve seen the grumpy person become the friendliest person with the help of chiropractic treatment relieving some of the discomfort they’ve suffered with. If you know that person, try and find out the true reasons for their attitude, if it’s pain related, maybe chiropractic can change all of your lives.

Chiropractic can help your body function better.

Adequate function is the foundation of a healthy life on so many levels. Whether you work an office/desk job, are an athlete, drive trucks, or are dealing with an internal disease. Better function improves your life and can save your life. The state of your physical being is one of the three pillars that define health (according to the World Health Organization or WHO). I take that to mean how well your physical body is functioning. All function in the body comes from the brain. It sends signals down spinal cord and out through the nerves to control the function of every muscle, organ and tissue.

When you have misaligned vertebrae that puts pressure on those nerves, it will decrease the flow of communication from the brain resulting in a decrease of function to what that nerve goes to. Only a licensed chiropractor is trained to remove that nerve compression by realigning the spine to improve your body’s function.

Chiropractic can save you money.

I’ve treated many patients over the years who’s been told they needed surgery,or used prescription/over the counter medications, or used massage, etc.., to treat their conditions. In some cases, not all cases, where surgery was recommended but not absolutely necessary. People often walk into our office trying to avoid that recommended surgery, and in many of them are able to avoid getting cut on with chiropractic care. Not all disc herniation need surgical intervention. The cost of surgery compared to the cost of chiropractic treatment does not compare. Same with a few other medical treatments versus chiropractic.

I once had a patient who experienced multiple migraine headaches a month. She was and had been taking many prescription and over the counter medications, she was getting Botox shots every three to four months to help relieve the migraines. After being referred to our office by a coworker, she started care and we were able to help get her off of the Botox shots and off a bulk of the medications and during our last few visits, she stated she was only getting 1-2 per month all through our chiropractic program. It’s usually the most cost effective treatment out there by far.

Chiropractic can help correct your posture.

Having bad posture is the easiest and also the most common cause of spinal misalignment. Bad posture can and will create arthritis in your spine overtime. No one wants the hump that you see on the back of some people’s neck. That condition is called Dowager’s Hump. Its most often created by having back posture. If you’re starting to develop it or just want to prevent it from starting, seek a corrective care chiropractic to get all the information and treatment that will help you decrease your hump or prevent a hump from forming.

Chiropractic can increase your fitness and athleticism.

A Dad brought his teenage son in for an evaluation. The son was a distance track athlete who heard from a former patient to get evaluated to get an idea of his balance while running. When evaluating, I noticed a pelvic imbalance which affected the muscles in the legs. If the spine or pelvis is misaligned, the muscles that connect to the spine are, in turn, out of balance. We were a few months into treatment when the next track season rolled around and he started to get personal records at in his events. Getting the structure in better order allowed his muscles to fire evenly resulting in better speed and a stronger lower body.

There are many more ways chiropractic can help improve whatever you have going on, even if you feel like you have tried everything. The easiest way to find out is to make an appointment and ask. If chiropractic can help would you want to find out? If you don’t ask or are too afraid to try it, it’s possible you are missing out on the very treatment that can not only save you from pain, save you money, and give you some comfort, but also may save your life.
